At University Hospital in Newark, NJ, we practice leading medicine through integrity, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. We are currently seeking Registered Nurses-OR Service Coordinators.

Overview:  The primary purpose of the OR RN Service Coordinator position is to be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality patient care for surgical clients ranging from neonate through adulthood, in a professional atmosphere during all aspects of the patient's visit, Serves as a leader for the staff and coordinator of patient care activities. Liaison to physicians and other health care professionals in problem solving patient care issues and ensuring staff, patients, and equipment come together seamlessly to move the patient through the surgical process. Must demonstrate and maintain knowledge and competency in technical skills of the operating room specific services and use expertise to raise the level of competency of the team. The OR RN Service Coordinator has a practical knowledge of the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organization Standards, Joint Commission Sentinel Event Alerts, National Patient Safety Goals, Patient Bill of Rights, Department of Health Standards, Patient/Family Centered Principles and The University Hospital Center Policies and Procedures and emphasizes patient safety in each practice and policy

Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Two {2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse required; preferably with one (1) year of experience in the service in which the candidate is applying.
  • BLS (CPR) is required.
  • Credentials Required: New Jersey Registered Professional Nurse License and Registration, BLS (CPR)
  • This position will concentrate on Orthopedics
